The Key - The Will Power!

Hello all,

Namaste! Hope all of you had a great week where you were able to find your own treasure chest within yourself, that was given to you to exactly lead a great life in this 'physical realm'. So, last week we discussed the treasure chest we have within our own mind and how each one of us is in search of that, outside in the material realm. Are we going to find that treasure chest outside? Unfortunately no! Why should we?

Maya:
Also, last week we discussed the energy of Rahu, the illusionist, the magician, who can show us, 'the great Maya' and give us nothing. How can he give it? He himself doesn't have it. He only managed to get a few drops of the Amrit- the eternal knowledge. So, using those few drops, he creates his magical kingdom. Rahu, himself didn't get the Amrit. So, would he allow a human being to get what he didn't get? No. The Divine wisdom. So, this is where we find many times as a being. Enchanted! Enthralled! Dazzled! By the material world. But nothing to truly call our own. Look at the below picture. Lights, bluish- black darkness, electricity, electronics, and pure energy, the realm of Rahu!

Is it any surprise, majority of the human race is finding themselves depressed, dejected, going to psychologists, life coaches, Asramas and spiritual leaders? All these are okay. Totally, okay, to first find solace or a break from the burden of living. But finally, everything comes and gets stuck at a point. After that point, nobody can lead us. Nobody outside of us.

Ralph Waldo Emerson: The only thing that can lead us from this point on is our own mind, Soul, and our own wisdom. I have put as a footnote, the famous Ralph Waldo Emerson's paragraph from his essay 'Self-Reliance'. The first time around when I read it, it was jumbled up, pithy words, which I just couldn't make sense of. I had to read some four times, finally for the wisdom to bubble up. Here is that paragraph.

Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, "There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance ; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better for worse as his portion that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried".

What this basically says is, a human who has gone and got stuck at his/her own door of 'internal wisdom' realizes, envying another person for their talents or creativity (humans totally indulge in this), is ignorance. They have not found their own wellspring of knowledge within. Imitating or copying another's thoughts, ideas, or knowledge is suicide, as their own creativity wilts and withers as they are not watering or improving it.

The next sentence, whatever 'plot of ground', mind along with talents, passions, and aptitudes, whether it is a lot or less, that is what we are given. The whole Universe may be 'full of good'- filled with goodies. But that is not our goody. Our goody, 'kernel of nourishing corn' can be made only by tilling our own mind to come up with brilliant ideas, creation, and invention. That is our true power.

How many of us are using our own power? That power to create? Now, the last sentence says, that power when we capture, that is new to this Universe because that never was in existence before, So, 'new in nature'. Also, the essence of that power is like that, only the creator-the human being, really knows, what they may be able to do. But even they are not fully aware of it, 'until they tried'.

Let us take an example. I am a blogger. I post one post every week. I have a very rough idea of what to write for that week. That is it. Done. Above that, I have no idea how a blog post would unfold. As I sit for writing, I go into a zone, and ideas and concepts start to take shape. Yes, I may have spelling as well as grammatical mistakes, which I later go and correct, once the writing part is over. This is the 'essence of the divine power.'

This is how every creativity or everything under the Sun unfolds. The human being has an idea, that is it. Now, to even reach this stage first we have to start trusting ourselves. But how many are really trusting themselves? We have discussed enough the conditioning a human being goes through. We are brought into the fold of conditioning the second we are born as, culture, family, attitudes, country and more. There are several layers to this. The true being gets masked in this gigantic mask of conditioning.

Along with that, we are also asked to always look for ideas, inspiration, and guidance outside. So, from our own young age, we start to look outside, for leaders, mentors, or teachers, whether as Spiritual gurus, religious leaders, political figures. I am not saying all these are wrong. All these are totally okay. But everything we should take, then we should come within us, and find our own thoughts, values, and attitudes for ourselves. This part we totally ignore. Who is each one of us, any idea? Who am I? Who are you?

The key: Last week, we discussed the treasure chest. Now, I mentioned about the 'key' to that treasure chest. Who has the key to your treasure chest (your mind)? Is it with you? Explore. Here also many times human beings make mistakes. Due to many of our life circumstances whether through poverty, financial encumbrances, hunger, political, cultural or ethnic displacement, the human being feels powerless to take charge of their life. Now what happens?

As we feel we are innately powerless, we give our power to another person, a political, religious, or another leader. So, this power now we have given to another person. This is the key- our true inner power. Now, another person has the key. But our own treasure chest is within us. The key is in another's hand. Is there any chance, the treasure chest may get opened? May be to an extent. But never to the full extent. Because we are not feeling powerful. We are feeling powerless. So, now feeling powerless we do things half-heartedly. This is a true lesson, as a humanity we need to understand. That would help the humanity a lot.

Our will power: This is the key. Our power of will! Many times we have no idea we have it. We don't accept it. We don't use it. What is the true will power? The power of a Master? Let us discuss, one or two scenarios from Mythology.

Moses: In the Bible, Moses went and convinced the Pharoah of Egypt that the slaves need to be released. The Pharaoh accepted and released the slaves. Then he had a change of heart and send warriors behind the slaves. Now, Moses and his followers were camped at the banks of the Red sea. The Pharaohs soldiers were closing in, and the sea in front. It was caught between the Devil and the deep sea, literally and metaphorically.

Moses was the leader of the slaves. The responsibility was on his shoulders to save his tribe. He had no clue how to do it? Then he got a voice from the sky. This we can also take as his intuition, the voice from within, the divine within. As Divine is considered the 'God of the sky', it can be metaphorically taken as sky is within, the vast realm of the mind. So, most probably he got an intuition to use his' enormous will power' to part the waves of the sea and lead the followers to the 'promised land' of the God.

Wisdom, bubbles, water, Soul, mind, conscious, subconscious, intellect, Sun, light, knowledge, attitude, effort, analysis, deep, recess, Moon, ideas, thoughts, creativity, creation, Brahman, Universe, purpose, words, power, desires, intentions, resolutions, butterfly, stars, way, heart, follow, brilliance, boat, ocean, life, direction, map, radar, Survivin, cancer, protein, stress, chaos, peace, oak, acorn, wisdom, Anahata, heart, space, mind, clutter, peace, awareness, Maya, commitment, colors, creativity, mythology, myth, treasure chest, key

Here, he accomplished the task. He parted the waves and took the slaves to Israel. Consider, Moses, think about the will power he embodied. This is a mythological story. But what if the story is to remind us, the very normal human being about the enormous 'will power' we as a human being embody? So, this is where the Divine keeps us, 'in the image of God'. But we humans keep ourselves in the 'image of human'- total human. Isn't that the truth? We give our key, our power to others or the system and walk the Earth as 'powerless human beings'.

Jesus: Now, Jesus. There is a story were at the mountainside near Sea of Galilee, Jesus went. People came in crowds to see him. In their inspiration to see him lot of people came. Many were very poor and hungry. Here Jesus performed a miracle of taking bread and multiplying it to share with 4000 people. He also transformed water into wine, so that the people were able to eat and drink, the wine and bread.

Yes, again a mythological story. But here also it can be an esoteric reminder of the true 'will power' of a person. We may not be able to multiply bread or change water to wine. But can't we use our will power, the true key to capture our own life, than waiting for someone else to save us? Just give it a thought. As long as we wait for someone to save us, our own treasure chest and key are lost for us forever. We come as a being life after life searching for that key, our will power already built into our system.

Krishna: Now, to a bit on Hinduism. Vedic philosophy. Arjuna is sitting dejected in the chariot, keeping his bow and arrow down, not able to fight the war against his own family. We have already before discussed the other side, also can be taken as our lower emotions, like fear, anger, jealousy, guilt, shame, rage, and all the vices. Krishna. the divine within is asking us to rise up, fight the war against the enemies, that decimate our will power, all the negative emotions that bring us down as lead blocks tied up to our legs.

We have also discussed how a human can live an existence of being a drop in the ocean of the Universe or we can transform our life as an 'Ocean in a drop'. In this state the whole power of the Universe comes to exist in a person who is able to capture their true will power. That is what Jesus, Moses, and Arjuna did. They truly captured their will power, the key to the amazing power of their own mind. Masters of their own will.

Now, before Arjuna could use his own will power, Krishna showed him how a being who has truly captured his/her own divine will becomes an 'Ocean in a drop'. How that person becomes divine itself. All the qualities of the divine are bestowed to him/her to use. The Master of their own life! The divine within expanding to overtake the whole being itself. The being becomes the Ocean! The Universe! The Viswarupa! Every aspect of the divine are ready to serve such a human being, who has mastered their will. The Master of their will! The Master of their life!

This is where the Divine sees us, every human being, who has been given their own treasure chest and a key called will power to open it. But what do we humans do? We ignore our mind- the treasure chest as well as our key- the will power. Then we go around the world, searching for our lost treasure, knocking on every door, going after every leader, and trying every trick in the world, to get it.

But then, there is only that 'small plot of land' that we are supposed to till, to make everything for our own life. The realm of our mind- our own pure inspiration and creativity. The realm of the divine as well as the human will, entwined and manifesting as ideas, creativity, and action through the human being to bring in changes in the world, society, as well as the Universe!

Now, to the question. Isn't it time for us to capture our own powerful will for our life to work for ourselves and others?

I wish you a good weekend and I'll see you next Friday!😉
