The power of the being!

Hello all,

Namaste! Hope all of you had a great week where you were able to contemplate on the reality our own life tries to show us. Last week, we discussed how our own life is a mirror to our reality. If our inner reality is great, that greatness shows in our outward reality as well. If our inner reality is mediocre, (Here the mediocrity is as per our own perceptions. There are no judgements.) that mediocrity shows up in our outer life as well. This is the truth whether we like to accept it or not.

So, we need to always look how our reality is being reflected back to us. If our life shows chaos we have to search whether we are nurturing chaos within. If our life flows like a gentle stream, we can be sure our inner reality is flowing as a gentle creek without eddies and currents. But many times we as a being have no clue that it is our inner reality that is the Master of our life. We try our very best to change our outer circumstances. But again and again we fail in that effort.

The Universe is inherently chaotic! We need to use our intellect to cut through the chaos of our own life!

It doesn't matter at the present moment how our reality is. But the second we put the intention to change our inner reality and start to take action towards it, slowly that changed inner reality starts to work in our outer reality. This I am talking from my own experience. Until early 2017, I was licking my wounds of a failed and next to nothing Biotechnology career. I had only my education but nothing as a career to say. I realized my effort at changing my outer reality was falling flat. Later I decided to work on my inner reality. Slowly, but surely I can say changes have happened in the last three years, a thing I could not do in some twenty years.

As creative as God: This shows how a being is really powerful and can create deep change in their own life if they have the intention to do so. In the Bible, Genesis 1:27 it is said, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."(Any concept that works towards this blog, I welcome with all my heart. It is not necessary it should be from Hinduism alone. Of course, I do love my religion and culture. My perspective is that religions were made for humans, not the other way around. But in today's world many consider the other way though. Just my two cents.)

When we say image, why do we consider the image just in physicality alone? God, the Universal intelligence is considered a power house of huge creativity. So, if man was created in the 'image of God' shouldn't it imply that man has the same creativity as the God itself. Mind you, here 'man' is the human being, not man as in the male sense, but as the human being. So. females also are super creative beings. In truth females bring the most powerful creation the world can ever acknowledge- another live human being. So, here both males and females are highly creative.

So, the super intelligence has sent us to Earth with more than enough creativity to make a very prosperous and purposeful life. So, why in the world do we humans walk around our life as very powerless beings, crying, cribbing, and complaining? If we are to walk through our life complaining and being frustrated why are we provided a brilliant mind, a sharp intellect, and a powerful intelligence? So, from that perspective aren't we wasting the huge potential we have been given? Shouldn't we tap into our creativity and make a more powerful life for ourselves?

Many times the lid on this creativity is tightly closed. As long as we try to find creativity outside our own selves, this creativity is kept hermetically sealed. For example look at the internet nowadays. A person starts something original. Suddenly thousand others imitate that person. The first person is creating something genuine out of their own mind. But the others who imitate are using the tools from outside. As long as they are trying to imitate another, their own inner creativity, and ingenuity lies dormant and untouched. The imitator is always the second best, mediocre, never original.

We have blank canvas of our life. What are we going to paint?

This is the curse of the modern life. There is copying, hacking, plagiarism, and stealing of intellectual property. But is this original? No. It is always the second best. While we are stealing, thieving, and copying, our creativity wilts and dies. The creativity that was provided as strong and powerful as the Divine itself. So, shouldn't we try to capture it the very best way we can? Instead we try to take it from others.

So, first we have to realize by trying to steal from others we would never feel powerful. We are trying to take the power given by others or trying to take away the power of others. Think of an empty pond. We are trying to fill it with water. We keep on filling water. Any time we stop filling the water, the pond ends up dry and depleted due to constant evaporation. Here the idea or creativity is of another, not ours. We can fill our pond with outside water only so much. Ultimately it ends up dry.

Now think, if the same pond has an underground stream running and a big outlet into the pond. The pond never dries. As the water keeps on evaporating the water from the underground source keeps on replenishing it. This is the same with a human being. If we access the underground water or the divine source within, the pond or our mind never runs dry of ideas or creativity. The stream of ideas is not from outside, but from within. It would be very unique as per our experiences, attitudes and perspectives.

This is the success of original thinkers, artists, and leaders. Think about Einstein, Gandhi or Prince. Each a giant in their own field. Einstein had innovative ideas about Universe, time and space. Gandhi led a nation to freedom using a new idea-Non-violence or Ahimsa. Prince wrote his own songs and sung them that was very different from other current artists, sometimes dark and deep. But it was their success, standing in their own uniqueness of creation and power.

Creation as power: This creation can be anything. Every second we create our life through our thoughts. We have discussed many times how our thoughts create our reality. That reality happens as a sequence of continuous seconds and minutes. But most of the time we are not aware of it, we end up creating something that we never intended to create. Now that creation works against our life. This is many times how we live our life.

Instead shouldn't we know what we are creating? How our life is evolving? The one very precious life should we just spend as endless seconds, minutes, and hours? This is where awareness comes into play. That is called as 'Prajna' (प्रज्ञा ) in Sanskrit. Are we truly aware of ourselves? Where is our life going? That is the difference between a truly, powerful human being and an ordinary being. An ordinary being is yet to develop that awareness. Nobody is kept away from it. But to develop such an awareness, one needs to move away from the crowds.

In the perspective of the 'collective consciousness'our own inner voice or the gentle messages from the higher Self gets drowned. When we are in a rat race to achieve success, wealth, and money how can the mind be free of thought so that it can receive the soft voice of the Self? Difficult. So, in this modern age we many times don't have the deep grounding chord with our own heart. We are lost within ourselves and our life. When we ourselves don't know who we are, where we are going, how our own life is unfolding in front of our eyes, how can we capture our creativity?

How are we using our power?

Only when we feel powerful within ourselves, we can truly delve deep into our own creativity. See any person who has made his/her own name in the world. They emanate power, the personal power. For example Prince was just 5'2", Gandhi was 5'5", Mother Theresa 5'0" and Napoleon was  5'7". In their day and age, they were considered a figure of short frame. But in that short frame they embodied a giant stature. The enormity of personal power.

The power of the being: Personal power! The innate power that emanates through a particular being. That power they don't get from outside, but from within. The power of knowing who they are and what they want to be in life. The second we become clear of that, 70% of our mental fussiness gets dissolved. We are not full of doubts about our own being. We are not worrying how the world sees us. Instead we are more concentrated on knowing how can we be more of ourselves-unique, genuine, individualistic. In this space, our thoughts, perspective and values are our own.

Now, a bit of Vedic astrology. In the horoscope, the place where our Sun is placed, that shows our unique individuality. Sun in Vedic astrology is not only the personality. Yes, it is the personality in the surface analysis. But in the deeper, esoteric analysis, Sun is the divine intelligence. The the zodiac sign, the house, the nakshatra, and the pada,  determines the way the divine intelligence is meant to come into our life. Without realizing this, if we go about our life, we are never able to capture our own unique brilliance.

Think about the Sun. It's light is self generated. It doesn't need light from another. All the other Grahas in the chart get the light from the Sun. Sun is the 'Vidya'- divine intelligence. Vidya is considered as the light of knowledge. Where there is 'Avidya'- negation of Vidya, there ignorance or darkness exists. Sun is the brilliance, that gives light to the whole of the Solar system. In Hinduism the mantra called 'Gayatri' is kept at the highest position. This mantra is an invocation to the Sun in a particular form called 'Savitar' to remove the ignorance and fill the 'Dhee'- intellect with the brilliance of knowledge.

Only once we know 'Who we are', we can become more of that. When we ourselves don't know who we are, how can we become more of that? There is a saying in English, 'The truth shall set you free'. The truth of Self-knowledge, who we are at our very core. This truth sets us free from the societal expectations, social conditioning, collective unconscious and shenanigans of our own mind. Until we don't capture that truth, it is difficult to become an innately powerful individual. Every time some leader, some new concept or some new trend comes along we are not sure of our own thoughts, perspectives and inklings.

But once we know our own truth, the foundation of our being becomes rock solid. But even here many times self-doubt do creep up. Ultimately we are humans isn't it? But 'knowing ourselves' we are in a much better place compared to no clue of who we are. I have been on both sides of the aisle. From my own experience I can say, knowing truly who we are, we feel more free in our mind and our being. We know ourselves at our core and we know our place in the world. Isn't that a powerful place to be in our life and our world? The power of the being!

I wish you a good weekend and I'll see you next Friday!😉

Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, "There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance ; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better for worse as his portion that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried".
