Earth as the Goddess!

Hello all,

Hope all of you had a great week, where you were able to take charge of your Dharma that would lead to a very fulfilled life. Last week we discussed how Earth stays as a hidden planet in Vedic chart of every person. We become the Earth through which the celestial energies influence our life and higher purpose. Today let us look at Earth from another perspective. In the Hindu pantheon there are numerous Goddesses who portray different energies. Each of them show a very different aspect of the same Divine feminine. So, today let us look at Earth from a Goddess perspective. As I am comfortable with Hinduism, it would be from that perspective. In Hinduism, Earth itself is considered a Goddess - Bhoomi Devi. She is considered very patient, nurturing and full of compassion.

Bhoomi Devi- She was born as the daughter of the sage Kashyapa. Later she married lord Vishnu. Specifically she is considered the wife of the third avatar of Vishnu, Varaha (boar faced Vishnu). The story goes like this. Once upon a time there was a rakshasa (demon), Hiranyaksha who terrorized Earth, it's inhabitants and drowned them in the primordial waters. Seeing the  hardship on Earth, the Devas- celestial beings, went and asked for help to God Vishnu. Vishnu took the form of a boar, killed Hiranyaksha, saved Earth and restored her to the proper place in the Solar system. Thus, the balance of the Universe was restored.

As Varaha saved the Earth, the Goddess Bhudevi (another name for Earth) is considered the wife of this particular avatar of Vishnu. We have discussed the planet Rahu in astrology before. Rahu is the illusion of the material world. Material world can be considered as Earth itself. Rahu energy makes the mind of the person having the material existence confused, chaotic and unclear. The clear thinking of the mind is kidnapped. So, in an esoteric sense if Rahu becomes Hiranyaksha, the demonic energy is capturing the mind of the person, who can be considered as the Earth. The mind is drowned in the primordial waters of confusion and chaos.

In Hindu mythology, the primordial waters were dark and light less. From that primordial waters later the creation of the Universe started. Here, the lack of light can be considered as ignorance. By extrapolation a mind captured by Rahu also is dark and ignorant. The person under the influence of Rahu has no idea of their own divine nature and how they are very much part of the Universal intelligence. So, that mind can be confused, chaotic and dark alike the Earth drowned in primordial waters. In such a mind, nothing of value comes into existence. Such a mind would behave like a demon immersing the Earth in dark waters. Rahu or Hiranyaksha destroying the Earth. They have no idea or awareness of their intentions or actions.

Primordial waters: Keep this concept in mind. Now, look at our world these days. There are terrorist organizations, terror states, dictators and people who only see divisions. Isn't that mind Rahu or Hiranyaksha? The mind under the influence of chaotic and confused energy. The demonic nature of Hiranyaksha. A demon who suffocated the Earth by drowning her in the chaotic energy. Isn't Earth now getting suffocated by the fires raging in Amazon? The Earth and her inhabitants are getting asphyxiated by smoke, pollution, smog and industrial debris. The world is becoming a waste-basket of the human species.

The primordial waters can also be considered as the 'Collective unconscious'. The stories we tell ourselves as humans and the collective human psyche is filled with these confusing rituals and customs of social, familial, communal and cultural conditioning. This also can be considered as the chaotic waters. Look around. Many minds are chaotic, confused, distracted and unclear. The internet, social media, news and all other information are drowning us more and more into this mental chaos. Utter darkness and ignorance. Every thing out of the mind and mental shenanigans.

Look at the way we have polluted and contaminated the Earth with our electronic, medical, industrial and agricultural wastes. Our soils are laden with heavy metals. Our oceans are contaminated with mercury and plastics. Our air is polluted with obnoxious gases. Let me give one more upsetting piece of information. The Amazon trees that we are burning, they have huge amount of carbon embedded within them. This carbon has been captured by the trees for millions of years and stored gently. Excessively burning trees releases this stored carbon as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

As humans what do we exhale? Carbon dioxide. Now, think about the world getting filled up with carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Asthma, asphyxiation and breathlessness become an everyday thing? Already the world is reeling with air pollution and smog. Burning trees would be adding fuel to an already raging fire. We have contaminated our planet with fossil fuels and coal consumption before itself.

Above this we are doing the same actions using another resource-trees, that is all. A tree takes hundreds or thousands of years to become fully grown. In that long period it takes up a lot of carbon. All that carbon within hours we put back as toxic gases into the atmosphere. A sapling needs hundreds of years even to make a small change in the amount of carbon we are loading up on our atmosphere. I feel like grabbing the collars of the humanity and shake them well, so that we wake up from the deep, complacent slumber we are in.

What are we bestowing to our kids and future generations? Toxic laden, tree less, water less, polluted, barren planet? That is our love towards our kids and grand kids? This is certainly the chaotic energy of the primordial waters. The ignorance of darkness. Digging our own graves without any awareness. No wonder the younger generations are getting more and more worried. Their sustenance is what is coming into question. The way, we the 'great human beings' have controlled our home. Polluted, contaminated, chaotic and confusing!

Varaha: Who is Varaha? It is the divine aspect within oneself. The mythological pictures usually depict the boar coming from under the waters and rising the Earth up in its tusks. This can be considered as the mind that dives deep within this confusing, chaotic waters of the material realm to find the wisdom of knowledge. The wisdom that we are very much part of this Universe and need to own our rightful place in this Universe. As long as we are willing to remain ignorant, we have no chance of coming out of that primordial waters.

Who can help Earth from her deep, pitiful, drowning situation? Varaha. The divine aspect within each one of us, the awareness that lies deep within us about ourselves, our life, our place in our own life, in the Earth and in the Universe. Such a Soul would never decimate the home they are living in. They would become aware that Earth is needed to sustain them, their family, their friends and the humanity itself. It is people who are confused and only concerned about just themselves that take such non-intentional actions.

Varaha, in these times is not going to be an Avatar that suddenly comes out of the ocean with the Earth on its tusks. Mythology most of the times is not literal, but metaphorical. Any person who is of a sane mind can look at the proof of increasing natural disasters, changing climates and depleting natural resources. This also aligns perfectly with mythology. Rahu- the energy of the voracious head. It wants everything, now- whether it is luxuries, resources, wealth or power. Rahu is the snake head of the demon Swayambharu who gorges on all the things that is there. But the head only consumes. It has no body. There is nothing to digest or build into structures.

This is the energy humans are now embracing. There is no thought about the consequences of the actions. No mental analysis or critical thinking. But it is just how can I widen my business? How can I accumulate more wealth? How can I acquire more power? For those results, humans have become ready to do anything.

Maybe we need to start thinking about how life on Earth would be for humans if we have no water to drink, no air to breathe and no food to eat. A very contaminated Earth would only be able to give very contaminated produce. The water can evaporate and go out into the space, once Earth's magnetic field gets reduced. Water already is thought to have come to Earth from comets and asteroids. Once the water gets lost to the space, there is absolutely no chance for us to get water. Humans can survive just four days without water. Mere four days.

If humans are going to have wars, in the future, most probably it may not be about land, but about water. Should we invite such days for ourselves? Shouldn't we start thinking of how to protect our Earth? It is the duty of each one of us to protect the Earth in the best ways we can. We have to awaken the Varaha or the protective boar aspect within each one of us and stop wasting the precious resources we have. We have only so much of water, trees, air or Earth.

Mother Goddess: Earth is considered the Goddess in many cultures. In Hinduism, she is Bhoomadevi. In Greek mythology, she is Gaia. In Andean culture, she is Pachamama. She is the patient mother who blesses us with everything we own. We should not destroy her, but should respect her. Otherwise, she can also take the form of the fierce Goddess like Kali, who decimates humanity as earth quakes, hurricanes, volcanoes and land slides. If, we drill to our heart's content the stability of the Earth's crust would become damaged and that itself can bring in more volcanoes and eruptions.

The natural environment of Earth has a delicate balance. If through human intervention if we destroy that balance, we ourselves may not know what would happen to Earth's climate. It can go whichever way it wants. Scientists can predict, model or futurecast. But do we really know, what could happen? Humanity has not been in such a situations. Dinosaurs have. They became extinct. What guarantee do we have as humans that we would survive for another thousand years?

Should we push our limits on the Earth and become a species of yesteryears soon? If we don't clean up our acts, humanity can very well see those days. At that time, the wars we nowadays wage would become senseless and childish. A child's play in the times of grave Earthly disasters. So, the question becomes is humanity going to take responsibility and act as mature adults or decimate Earth as toddlers? It is always our free will and choice!

I wish you a good weekend and I'll see you next Friday!😉
